Module 9 : Activity 3 - Thinking about the whole school

There are several elements of the "whole school improvement framework" that needs to be improved at my school but I chose to focus on that of Leadership.  I believe that if there is a good leader with a vision and a mission to see success at his/her school this could be the driving force for positive development that is needed for the integration of ICT to be successful.  A leader can be a motivator as well as be motivated to be a part of the digital age.  Create partnerships with stakeholders in order to get infrastructual changes implemented.  Act as the laison to the cirruculum and development experts within the ministry to enact changes for curricukum and assessment within the school. A good leader can be the change to foster teamwork as well as delegate the process of setting up behaviour and codes of conduct which can ensure better adherence to ICT implementation.  A leader can be the vehicle for the much needed change at my school.   There have been improvement

Module 9 : Activity 1 - Leadership in the digital age

A good leader can make a huge difference in the success or failure of an organization and in our case a school.  As the upgrade to a leader takes place so are the responsibilities and vision.  Ther are several qualities that leaders must possess in order to achieve success in this digitsl age - they are: 1.Leaders must be quick to embrace a system view of the school 2. Leaders must be able to manage the changes or transition 3. Leaders must be able to build a resilient school 4. Leaders must be able to transition quickly - don't dwell on the past 5. Leaders must be able to create and maintain the school as a learning and knowledge organization A good leader must lead by example and in order to achieve success in the digital era a good leader MUST change with the times.  Adaptability.

Module 9 : Activity 2 - School Scenarios

After reviewing the scenarios which were presented to us I have concluded that there is a need to have proper management policies clearly articulated and followed with regards to ICT implementation.  Whether it is done on a small or large scale it must be noted that careful planning is required.  In some of the cases presented it appeared that many of the decisions were ad-hoc which resulted in decision making and trouble shooting after the damage was already done. ICT is very important in assisting with the creation of a digital environment but leadership is a key ingredient to its success.  If policies are procedures are outlined, and all the parties involed are aware of the procedures then some of these scenarios will become a thing of the past.
