Module 1- - Activity 4C (ICT and Security)

At my School we have two IT Labs which are quite secure, burglar bars are on all windows and two additional metal doors were installed after we were the victims of multiple break-ins.
Several locks on each door and padlocks are also used to add to the security. As a result, we store majority of our hardware in these two labs. However, the administrative block (Principal’s Office and Staff Rooms) are far less secured but houses printers, several computers and a Risograph.

We are in agreement that there is a need for greater security and with that we have decided to put together a security plan which we are happy to share with you.

1. Put a team in place to evaluate the security needs of the school

2. Identify the areas that need security improvements

3. Communicate plans and security policies to all members of staff and students

4. Encourage parents to become involved – the school is where there children spend many

     hours daily.

5. Create a close link with the local police in the area.

6. Commence the upgrades with the most economical projects geared to reducing risks
